'Seat 15' Question
What was the point of Captain Phillips telling the Navy to tell his wife he's in seat 15? Also, what was the point of the shirt when the package came?
Sorry if it's a dumb question, but that was something that kinda confused me.

Seat 15 confirmed - I am watching the movie now and I clearly see "15" marked on the wall of the lifeboat to the right of Captain Phillips' head. He wants them to know where he is.

The shirt was identify him as the hostage so he wouldn't be shot by the snipers by accident.
Maybe he had an understanding of hostage protocol an knew to let the snipers know this was his position on the boat. This is just a guess
