Older Actors rock!
Truly, one of the great things about this movie is that key players in the cast are older men. They bring a realism to the proceedings that make it all the more convincing.
If this was remade, everyone would be in their early twenties and pretty and BORING. The older actors really steal this movie. The younger guys are all great too though.

You have a great point.

One of the things I liked about this film is that the actors chosen were believable in their parts as scientists, technicians, and administrators at a research station. Mostly scruffy-looking middle-aged guys with authentic personalities, as you'd get in reality. These days, you get a catwalk instead of a movie.
