Is velma suppose to be asian? What happened to Freds hair?

This is incredibly irritating. I can't even imagine what the film makers thought when they did this. The characters must look like the original. "Hmm lets do Superman with a pink custume and paint The Hulk purple. Don't think so. So easy things to solve. But why did they do it like this? I haven't got a single clue.

They couldn't spare an hour to bleach, wash, then dry his hair? Or put a blond wig on him? Wow, that's a really tight schedule!

I think the creators of this movie were looking for actors who could potray these characters the best, not based on how they look. I'm a big fan of the cartoon and I couldn't give a flying bleep what color hair Fred has or if Velma is asain.
