Ranking 'Alien' Films

I haven't seen the Alien vs Predator films and have no intention of ever doing so.

1/ Alien - Classic that defined the genre
2/ Aliens - Rare great sequel that saw Cameron take the franchise in totally different direction.
3/ Prometheus - Flawed, but extremely interesting/cerebral take on the series. Very well done.

4/ Aliens 3 - Where the series started to run out of steam. Had a been there done that feel, but the directors cut is actually pretty good. A somewhat underrated if unnecessary retred.

5/ Alien Resurection - This was the franchise killer. An unwatchable and silly film where Ripley is brought back from the dead, makes love or whatever she does with an alien, is the mother of a hybrid in a scene isn't good enough to be in an Ed Wood film and plays basketball...A truly cringe worthy film.
