Artsy or Trash?
I've heard a lot of mixed reviews about this movie, some say it has a deep meaning, some say It's just a stupid music video. If it's artsy and has a deep meaning, what is it? Or is it just complete trash? I haven't seen this movie so I was wondering what everyone else who has seen it thought.

I wouldn't say it has a deeper meaning, but there's a point to the 'spring breaking'. The main girls are miserable girls stuck in a miserable town living miserable lives, and they find some kind of escape (and misplaced happiness) in pointless partying and getting drunk. It's the juxtaposition of those two elements (the cold clinical arthouse film-style of their daily lives against the MTV-esque shot party sequences) that emphasizes how the partying is more of a way to escape than a way to live.
