What was the purpose--if any--for the remote not functioning correctly when the lady was questionning Whip and she says "I'll have to do it manually"?

Poorly scripted and directed. Very inept moviemaking. That part of the movie should have been reshot.

I think so it was more dramatic during those final questions with her standing right in front of him.

Synopsis:
