All three are incredibly solid films. I was never a huge Ben Affleck fan, actually I walked out of "Armageddon", but his directorial films have been really good. I think "Argo" is still the best movie I've seen this year (still have to see "Silver Linings Playbook", "Zero Dark Thirty", "The Hobbit", "Les Miserables", & "Life of Pi"), and easily Ben's best film to date. I loved "The Town," Boston's version of "Heat". Great action, good characters, and a solid script that elevates it above typical action movies. However, "The Town" did drag at times, and felt like some of the scenes included were simply in there to give the actors more drama-time to act, as opposed to actually advancing the storyline. "Gone Baby Gone" is very good, but it is simply not the type of movie I would choose to rewatch very often - unlike "Argo" and "The Town". Again, he got great performances from his cast, and it is an invloving story.
I'd dare say that Ben is turning into our generation's Clint Eastwood in terms of delivering solid films when he's behind the camera, and entertaining (but much less consistent quality) films when soley acting in them.
