Finally Watched...

Whenever someone mentions "chick flicks" they always bring up Terms of Enderment, Beaches, Steel Magnolias, Thelma and Louise and Fried Green Tomatoes. I'm really into pop culture so I know of these movies but haven't seen them. I've seen them parodied or saw clips (like I already knew Tommy was going to be a jerk when his mom was dying and that whole give her the shot scene so since I expected it wasn't really moved but that's my fault)

Anyway the only problem I have is THE CHEATING!

Ok technically Flap may have cheated first because she suspected him of it but she didn't have any real proof and she goes on and cheats herself. Then she get upsets with him...Why? I get he was at work all time and didn't give her any attention but on the flip side it's alluded to her getting a mood every time she's pregnant he may not have been getting what he needed from her either. I don't like cheating no matter what the gender is. Ok so it was a bit extreme for him to uproot his whole family to be near the other woman (I know he got a higher position but it was the same pay) Still I don't see why I'm suppose to feel sorry for her for being cheated on.

I wish I can go back in time and pinch those chubby little cheeks and tell you nothing will be ok.

I don't think you are supposed to feel sorry for her. This movie is about the progression of life. From when Emma was born until she died and was remembered at the funeral. She wasn't better than Flap. Just figuring out her way through her life.
